- Saint Germain des Prés (10 minutes ): Saint Germain des Prés became a fashion district after the Second World War. It represents the center of the intellectual and artistic life of Paris. Since the 19th century, artists, such as Delacroix or Manet or writers, such as Balzac and Racine, settled there. During the 20th century, artistic and cultural life, the exchange of the new ideas and the birth of the existentialism developed in café’s which are now famous thanks to Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir among others: Café de Flore, Les 2 Magots or La Brasserie Lipp. Picasso is also part of those who lived in this area.
